I noticed this interesting menu in Chrome earlier.
I have expressed a few dislikes for Chrome in the past, and while I still don’t appreciate the non-standard menu, I like the innovation attempt here.

It looks beautiful, common 🙂 Everywhere I go to show off Chrome to people, the first thing I show is the menu, cause it is new and unique.
While I never use the “Edit” section, it is mostly for accessibility, the Zoom feature is pretty cool. It is nice to know within the menu what percentage you are at unlike others where you have just have + / – / and normal.
Soon, you will see your most requested feature, the tab tree which can be positioned at the side. I believe it could be done right now 🙂 Sidebar API implementation has been done (in Dev Channel).

Ick. The idea of little button targets in pull-down menus is pretty painful in itself, but add to that the fact that there are (at least, visibly) no keyboard shortcuts for any of those commands any more and it seems like a fairly disastrous piece of UI… Obviously, I’d expect the standard cut/copy/paste keyboard shortcuts to work, but what about the zoom shortcuts?
I do think the display of the zoom percentage is nice, but it seems like that display could be added just by, well, adding it to a normal menu item.

Yes the 2 previous menus where disturbing at first, but very convenient after a little use.
I think extensions should not be in a submenu.

Idea to consolidate two menus is definately win – it was always confusing what menu to choose.
I’m not sure does somebody uses “Edit” menu here. Much more simplier to use keyboard shortcuts or mouse context menu.

When I first tried Chrome, I was totally turned off by it. But the version I have now is a bit different that the one above, even though still nothing like Firefox. But all in all, I have learned to love it for its simplicity and usefulness.
