Paint.net is a free
replacement for MSPaint. MSPaint is convenient because available on every
Windows machine out there, but it’s extremely primitive and for those of us who
need a little bit more without requiring all the bells and whistles of
Photoshop, it’s not really an option. After searching for a while, I
finally found Paint.net which, despite a few glitches on my machine, seems to be
very powerful while easy to use.

Looks nice. Have you checked out GIMP(http://www.gimp.org). Pretty extensive plugin library too. Multiple scripting languages(Perl,Python,Ruby…).

I went to the University of Idaho… 8 miles from Washington State University. I was headed down to an interview in california, and there was a guy from WSU going on the exact same flights as me. So, we started talking and it turned out we were headed to the same interview.
Anyways, he was one of the guys that worked on the Paint.NET project… I learned quite a bit about it. They did some neat stuff. I really like the buildin plugin compiler.

I also tried Paint.NET but prefer The GIMP, although i’m a windows user. But for most windows people Paint.NET will be more attractive then The GIMP because of GIMP’s GUI.

I tried Paint.NET, transparent windows was usefull, some visual stuff also but there not enough features to be use in everyday works.
Paint.NET was a good proof of concept but i prefer use http://www.photofiltre.com/ witch is more usefull.

I find the idea of semi-transparent windows quite good. Would be usefull for all these Adobe apps.
Paint.NET is quite impressive considering it
