One thing that really irks me is articles that are split into multiple parts
and that force you to click Next every time you are ready to read more.
Here is an
example.
Whenever I encounter such an article, I immediately search for a Print
button, and most of the time, it takes you to a page that not only contains the
entirety of the article, but also removes all the ads and other clutter from it.

Of course, then you get the _really_ annoying articles where the “Print” button only shows the current page.
I don’t have an example, because when I come across those, I don’t tend to go back.

hi cedric,
I’ve been doing the same for many years although I feel kinda guilty to advocate the same to friends/colleagues since the publisher is losing ad realestate(dollars) by this act.

I heard conspiracy theories that it is to do with page hit counters, page impressions per visit etc…
It is really annoying. http://www.smh.com.au has started doing it, and I find I am reading it less know as I only bother with half an article.

Unfortunately not all sites provide such “Print” functionality 🙁
It is also very convinient to upload printed version of articles to my palm for later reading.

The articels on e.g. german “zeit.de” are split over several pages, but they offer to read the complete article on one page; without a need to (ab)use the print function.

*me too*
What also irritates the hell out of me is &#*$ RSS/Atom feeds that don’t include the whole entry. Gah!!

I use aardvark when I want to clean up a page before reading or printing:

I’m glad to see that the Mac has all the same annoying issues as Windows.

Oh ya. I hate those multiple page articles where one page contains only one paragraph. I have been using the print format for quite some time. Also, the fact that opera remembers all the opened pages when I restart the browser/machine means I almost never miss out on any opened article.
